Sample the Library: Turn Library Noises into Music (2026)

Ever imagined turning the everyday sounds of a library into a symphony? You're in for a treat! On Thursday, February 19, 2026, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Braybrook Library is opening its doors after dark for a unique experience: a music production workshop!

This isn't your typical library visit. This 'Libraries After Dark' session invites you to unleash your inner musician by transforming the library's ambient sounds into music. You'll team up with a partner and use Ableton Move samplers to record the unique noises found throughout the library. Think of the possibilities – the rustle of pages, the click of a pen, or even the hum of the air conditioning!

And this is the part most people miss... No prior experience is needed! Whether you're a seasoned musician or just curious, this workshop, run by Big Racket, is designed for everyone.

But here's where it gets controversial... Could the sounds of a library truly be considered musical? It's a fascinating question, and one that the workshop encourages you to explore.
