Demi Edmunds: 'Funny, kind, and caring' teenager killed in three-car crash in Cwmbran, South Wales
A seventeen-year-old girl who lost her life in a three-vehicle collision in South Wales is being remembered by her brother as someone who was lively, compassionate, and thoughtful.
Demi Edmunds, a pupil from nearby Caldicot, died at the scene of the incident on the A4042 in Cwmbran, Monmouthshire, around 12:25pm on Thursday, according to Gwent Police.
The teenager was the only pedestrian involved in the crash.
In a tribute issued through Gwent Police, her brother, Jake, described Demi as “the best sister I could’ve asked for. She was funny, kind and caring.” He added that they were very close and that she felt like his best friend—someone he trusted completely yet is now gone.
“Hopefully she’s in heaven, somewhere better.”
Demi’s family, who have asked for privacy, issued a joint statement through the police, saying she was a “beloved daughter, granddaughter, sister, cousin and niece” who brought joy to many people.
The family described Demi as someone who loved her friends and was loved by everyone she met, calling her “once met, never forgotten.”
Detectives are appealing for help from the public, including anyone who may have captured footage from CCTV or dashcams related to the incident.
