On the pitching front, Bubba Chandler and Hunter Barco have also made their mark. Chandler, with his 98.6 mph fastball, showed glimpses of dominance during his brief stint in the big leagues. Barco, too, left a positive impression at Triple-A Indianapolis and earned a taste of the majors at the end of September.
And the talent pool doesn't stop there. The Pirates' 2025 first-round pick, Seth Hernandez, the top-ranked prep arm in the draft, is set to create a buzz when he makes his professional debut in 2026. Additionally, Edward Florentino, just 19 years old, had an outstanding first year in the states, slashing .290/.400/.548 with 16 home runs and 35 stolen bases between the Florida Complex League and Single-A.
The Pirates now have a promising crop of talent at every level. From recent acquisition Jhostynxon Garcia, knocking on the door of the majors, to intriguing prospects like Tony Blanco Jr. at the lower levels, the Pirates are brimming with potential.
